Patriotic Star

My mom and I started on the Patriotic Star a few years ago. I recently finished my quilt top. (We each worked on our own). I will be having MW quilt this for me (soon). Pam (from Miss Millie's Quilt Shop, who recently passed away), designed this quilt.  I fell in love with the design and also the colors.  This is very big quilt for me.  I layed it on a queen size bed to take a pic.  The quilt is roughly 100x100. I think this is the biggest one I have done, next to my son's graduation wall hanging.

This is the top view of the quilt.

Below is the view of the foot of the quilt.

Graduation Quilt

SK and I threw a graduation party for her daughter and my son last year.  At the party as the guests arrived  we had them autograph a piece of muslin with pigment pens.  I made churn dash blocks out of the muslin squares.  The the theme of the quilt was in Red and Black, these are the school colors.  His Senior Picture and his Class of 2009 t-shirt (this listed all the kids in his class) was added to the quilt.

I hung this on my wall to take pics of it.

Now the only thing left to do is get the backing and quilt it.  Eventually this will be a wall hanging.

Amanda's Baby Quilt

For Amanda and her first baby I made her a panel baby quilt of Noah's Ark.
She is due around July 18, her baby shower is on June 6th.
Amanda's is done and ready to go.
I have two more baby quilts to start and have finished before this September.

I outlined the rainbow, clouds, and ark.
I also framed the ark and each animal square on the sides.

This outlined showed up pretty good on the back side.
Hopefully you will be able to see it in the pic.

Sneak Peak at soon-to-be-a Big Sis Quilt

My Sister-in-law KL is having her first baby. My brother BL and his wife KL had adopted alittle girl. I have not met her, I have only seen pics of her. She's always has a smile on her face and is very happy in the photos. I will be starting on the new baby's quilt shortly, but didn't want to leave Big Sis out. I made her a fleece tie quilt.

The front will be Tinkerbells and the back will be the flowers.

Hope she enjoys the quilt. She won't be getting this until around the end of September or so. The baby quilt will be in the works shortly.

My son appeared in the Country Kitchen commercial that aired the summer of 2009.

This was the advertisement for the Friday Night Prawn Special.

Here I go !

Since I am new to blogging I thought I would try to add a pic to my post.
Here I go!
I took a paper-piecing class that my mother was teaching, I did pretty good in class.
We made a basket of flowers. Below is what the finished project looks like.

Had a good time and this was easy to do. It finished up pretty good.

A co-worker had just bought a house and was having a housewarming party. I didn't think that a guy would like the basket of flowers to hang on his wall. RJ is into wine and winemaking, so I went on line and found a paperpiecing pattern for a wine bottle and a glass of wine. I thought that would be a better housewarming gift for a guy and his new pad. This could either be a wall hanging or table topper. I made another one for my sis. She is also into the wine thing.

This was also fun to make and turned out pretty good.

My First Post

Thanx to my mom I now have a basic blog set up. Now I suppose I best get the rest of it constructed.
